Launched AI Integration (MCP) beta
You can now read and work with CheckBack projects, files, comments, tasks, notes, and talks from AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and VS Code. Ask in chat to create tasks from meeting minutes, summarize project status, adjust task due dates, create meeting-minute notes, post or resolve review comments, and more. The feature becomes available once a workspace administrator enables it under Workspace Settings > AI Integration (MCP) (off by default). Each member connects with their own account, and the AI can only see and do what that member can in CheckBack. Administrators can review AI assistant activity in the Usage History section on the same screen.
Other Improvements
Show why file attachments are unavailable in comments
The file attachment icon, which was previously hidden for viewers and for share links that do not allow attachments, is now always shown. When attachments are not allowed, the reason is displayed when you click the icon, drag and drop, or paste an image. A "Review: File attachments" row has also been added to the project permission table.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where launching a project from an empty My Note deleted the note
Fixed an issue where launching a project from a newly created, empty My Note and choosing "Leave without saving" deleted the original note.
Fixed the note "+" menu shifting and becoming unusable
Fixed an issue where opening the "+" menu on a bulleted list followed by a nested bulleted list caused the menu to keep shifting downward so items could not be selected.
Fixed being unable to rejoin a project after leaving
Fixed an issue where users who had left or been removed from a project did not see the "Join" button and could not rejoin.
Fixed spaces around formatted text disappearing in notes
Fixed an issue where spaces placed before or after formatted text such as bold were removed when a note was saved.
Fixed some text appearing in English for Simplified Chinese users
Fixed an issue where some text appeared in English for users whose display language is set to Chinese (Simplified).
Fixed talks from left projects being shown
Fixed an issue where talks from projects you had left appeared in the talk list and search results.
Fixed image versions opening in the wrong viewer
Fixed an issue where opening an image version in a new tab or from a share link opened the PDF / document viewer instead of the image viewer.
